The use of family restrooms have been a blessing for me. It give us the opportunity to focus on the things that we needed to do during potty training. I’ve noticed my child was calmer and more receptive to enter the “potty world”.
During a recent visit to a restaurant, I noticed a father taking his little girl into the men bathroom. I was shocked only trying to imagine the things that she was going to be exposed to but he certainly had no other choice as there was no family restroom. Or did he?
This sparked a conversation between my husband and I. What would he do if he was on the same situation and without a doubt his answer was he would do the same. I couldn’t believe it but it is true. It is beyond my comprehension why we don’t allow fathers to enter the ladies restroom if they are taking their little girls in to do their business. Is it really that horrible? I mean, think about this. It is by far much better than the other option, yet we allow this to happen.
There is even a website dedicated to help people to find these dedicated restrooms. For more information, go to Find Family Restrooms.
There is got to be a better way to do this. Am I the only one who thinks this way?
